| Fluidesign Pairs | ||||||||||||||||||
| Modern hull designing has determined that the pair and the double should share the same shape. In the past it was felt the pair required a more stable shape with a flatter bottom, but over time it has been proven that the traditional double shapes were faster, and the pairs built from those shapes were also faster as pairs. Armed with this knowledge, we built our pair upon the successes of the FLUIDESIGN double. Our double is one of the narrowest on the market, and enjoys a reputation for its speed. Despite using the same hull for our pairs, the crews using the FLUIDESIGN pair find that it is no less stable than pairs with a flatter bottom. They really enjoy its friendly steering and find it exceptionally responsive. We have followed our own lead, and delivered a bow mounted sweep rigger that offers improved stiffness, a much larger height range, a more balanced weight distribution, and more steering shoe freedom when stroke steered. | ||||||||||||||||||
| Design Advances: Why a bow mounted rigger? Mounting the rigger to the bow has several advantages. First, the rigger is closer to the longitudinal center of the boat, providing more balance. Second, it eliminates pin torque at the catch. Finally, the rigger allows for an unmatched range of heights and is much safer when striking unseen objects. One wrench is all you need and the boat can be rigged in under a minute. The rigging mounts are designed for fast, perfect rigging each time, no need to recheck measurements. | ||||||||||||||||||
| Durability: By using multi-directional layers of woven carbon fiber, our hulls are uncommonly durable. Since we do not use cores of any kind in the hull, impact with objects will not crush or damage the skin. This resiliency appeals to clubs where a range of athlete ability is a factor. | ||||||||||||||||||

Oarlock Height: The total adjustable height of the oarlock is 8cm, with 6 cm of adjustment on the rigger and 2 cm with speedwashers. Please see picture below for more detail. Steering Toe: An aircraft engineer designed the steering toe. The design looks and works like it came right out of an airplane. We also added a spacer under the non steering shoe, which means that the rower is pushing off both feet on the same plane-this is usually not the case with most steering shoes. (click for picture) Rigger Mount: The sweep rigger is bolted to the gunnels. Fin and Rudder: The rudder is mounted right behind the fin. The fin is more sternward than most boats, which results in straighter tracking. The rudder, although quite small, will steer the boat as aggressively as required. The fin is carbon fibre, which cannot be bent, and the rudder is stainless steel. |

| EL Model: An entry level priced boat, designed for speed. It is the same shape, materials, and hardware as the Elite Model. Only the finish is different, it is painted with a single stage automotive Urethane paint. This finish adds 1kg to the final weight. The standard color is white; any other color is available as an option. Visit our customization page to view some of the possible colors. | ||||||||||||||||||
